Murrieta Valley High School is excited to welcome Caleb Marroquin as our new band director. Caleb brings a passion and enthusiasm for music education. Caleb aims to elevate the Murrieta Valley High School band to new heights. His vision includes expanding the band’s repertoire, integrating innovative practices, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to excel and enjoy their musical journey. The school community eagerly anticipates the vibrant energy and expertise Caleb will bring to the program.

Caleb Marroquin is a conductor and musician from Fallbrook, California. His primary instrument is the saxophone. Caleb has been involved in music since elementary school, and his passion for the artform has only grown over time. He was a dedicated member of his high school’s marching band, acting as their Drum Major for two years. He held the same title at Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Corps, with which he toured across the country and performed in DCI World Championships in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana. He attended college at Point Loma Nazarene University, where he was awarded a BA in Music Education. Since then he has coached marching band at Rancho Buena Vista High School, taught band at Canyon Crest Academy, and continued to play music with the Cuyamaca Wind Ensemble. Caleb is deeply grateful to the teachers and colleagues he has learned from throughout his career. These mentors have cultivated his understanding of music, but equally importantly, demonstrated the values of compassion, dedication, integrity and open-mindedness which Caleb now holds central to his educational philosophy. He looks forward to learning and teaching alongside the students of MVHS as they grow together to be the best they can be.
Thank you,
